As you probably know Alain Ducasse is a very famous French Chef.

In London he runs the Dorchester which holds three Michelin Stars.

Mr Ducasse lately has been very focused on healthy food, natural and local ingredients (Nature - Simple sain et bon).

You can imagine how thrilled I was when I learned that his latest venture - La Trattoria at the Jimmy'z in Monaco - is in fact an Italian restaurant.

Actually - as they say - it is Italian cuisine interpreted by Alain Ducasse.

If you read this Blog regularly you know that I think that Italian food tends to be healthy and natural (for example Knowing more about a healthy Italian diet can improve your life .......), and that owning (and especially using) an Italian Property usually means adopting better food habits, going for more genuine ingredients, locally produced etc.

Well the fact that Mr Ducasse has somehow recognized that Italian food is genuine, contemporary and interesting, so much that decided to explore it by opening an Italian restaurant ..... I was enthusiastic!

Tanja and I went to La Trattoria last week.

The location is excellent.

The place itself is impressive, close to the water, next to the Montecarlo Bay Hotel and overlooking the garden of Jimmy'z club.

We ate outside, but I believe that the inside also would probably be quite enjoyable.

I liked the idea of the Antipasti that you can choose in several small courses and the focus is on quality of the ingredients, as normally in Italy.

The main courses are traditional Italian dishes, but reinterpreted by Mr Ducasse creatively, which is an interesting combination.

We enjoyed the evening and will go back. It is a very pleasant environment and the food is good; also an excellent choice to bring guests for a special night.

Try it, and let me know what you think.
