A day visit to Museo Piaggio in Pontedera, our Italian Homes in Tuscany

Today I would like to tell you more about the Museo Piaggio in Pontedera (Museo Piaggio "Giovanni Alberto Agnelli" viale Rinaldo Piaggio 7 – 56025 Pontedera (PI)), at about 25 km (15 miles) from Lajatico and Chianni and our Italian Homes in Tuscany.

It would take probably about 20 minutes driving and it would be an opportunity to visit Pontedera and Ponsacco, and maybe to lunch there.

The Museum hosts a number of collections not only of the mythical Vespa but also of the firm’s production in the aeronautical sector as well as of the Gilera’s production, a motorcycle historical trademark that was owned by Piaggio.

In the circa 3.000 sq meters space there are images, old motor-bikes, new and old Vespas, Apes, engines etc., it can be a one day trip ideal also with children and family.

In accordance with the Museum’s web-site (museopiaggio.it), the Museum is open from 10 to 18.00 from Tuesday to Saturday. At a small fee, it is possible to book guided visits by writing to museo@museopiaggio.it, phone number +39 0587 27 171.

Apparently, the guided visits to the Museum can be organised in English too if booked in advanced.

The web-site is in Italian and also in English, even though you might have problems to find the English version button, which is in the bottom part of the home page on the right.

Feel free to contact me direct to learn more about this one day trip.

Very best regards,

Luca Catalano
