Last week I went to Milan for a couple of things including also a brief visit to the Salone del Mobile.
It is an international event, I believe one of the largest of its kind in the world.
During that week, Milan is particularly interesting. In certain areas shops are open until late, and thanks to all these people coming from many countries (apparently 150, in accordance with the Italian media), it becomes also incredibly international.
It is in the evenings that the atmosphere gets really thrilling, even though I had the opportunity to meet one of the residents of Via Tortona – one of the main areas these days – who was not that happy about the all thing. You never can make everybody happy!
In any event it is a great week, and last week in particular was even splendid, the weather was perfect to the outside life, also in the evening.
Next time, if you are planning a visit to Italy, take into consideration the week of the Salone del Mobile of Milan, it is a good opportunity to visit Milan and breath an exiting flair.
Of course the great downside is to find a decent accommodation, actually nearly impossible during that week, as well as during the other events like the Fashion Week for example.
You can stay outside Milan or you can take the opportunity of a day visit to Milan from The Resort & SPA Dominio San Sebastiano in Bergeggi, which is at less than 2 hours driving away on the sea!
Next Spring in fact you will be able to rent your property in Italy there, or maybe to enjoy your own holiday home at the Resort, and take the opportunity to visit Milan too.
It is worth a thought.
