Last week end I was in Lajatico and Chianni to meet Gian Piero, Alberto and a few people who come over to visit us, and I learned that on Saturday the Mayor of Lajatico – Mr Fabio Tedeschi – would have inaugurated the first part of the village cycling track.
I managed to go there, and in the image you can see Mr Fabio Tedeschi who talks to the children of the Primary School of the Village about the project.
It is a good initiative, Alberto Bocelli and his office were involved, together with a few local local entrepreneurs who teamed up to get it completed before the Teatro del Silenzio, which this year will be on July 21.
In fact the cycling track reaches also the Teatro del Silenzio to get back to the historical centre of Lajatico, passing next to our Italian Property in the village.
I believe it is intention of the local authority to add other parts to create longer track for cyclists.
The area is suitable both for mountain biking as well as for road biking since uphills and downhills are not too steep.
Actually I have noticed more riders recently compared to the recent past.
Another good reason to spend more time in the area, even for a few days of cycling.
Best to all.
